White House Deck Log is an independent publication. It is not a government site, not a campaign, and not a rage blog. It is a deck log: a durable, searchable record of consequential actions by the White House, Congress, the Department of Defense, federal agencies, contractors, and those state governments whose acts bear on the federal record — then a test of what officials said against what the record shows.
The editorial premise is short enough to keep on the masthead: relentlessly skeptical, never recklessly certain. The same evidentiary standard applies regardless of party or administration. Skepticism is a method. Certainty is a claim, and claims need sources.
What a log entry is
A log entry is a dated account of an action, omission, or contradiction that is worth keeping. It is not a scoop contest and it is not a vibe. Each public entry must:
- distinguish verified fact, attributed allegation, analysis, opinion, and unresolved question;
- cite sources on an evidence ledger, with tiers;
- survive an independent fact-check (PASS), issued by someone other than the drafter;
- remain correctable in public, with git history intact.
Until those conditions are met, the line in the book stays blank. That is not a stall. That is the point.
What this site is not
It does not speak for the United States, the Executive Office of the President, or any party committee. It does not use official seals, campaign marks, or flags as decoration. It does not sell inventory on this build. It does not ingest Reddit as proof, and it does not publish by automaton.
The voice is skeptical, dry, exacting, and occasionally wry. It criticizes power and conduct. It does not sneer at protected traits or at ordinary voters.
Opening the book
Public entries appear in the log, in the archive, and in the RSS and JSON feeds once they carry status published and fact-check PASS. If a page looks empty, it is empty. Empty is honest.
